Dual-use goods

Dual-use goods are products and technologies that can be used for both industrial and military purposes. They are governed by the international Wassenaar Arrangement.

Laser diodes, as used in the machines for plastic welding, are subject to the dual-use regulations (Chapter 6A005) for laser powers 80 W and above.
For countries that are not on the Wassenaar list, export permits must be obtained from the national authorities of dual-use goods.

For the export permit, information on the end customer must be submitted as well as a declaration from the end customer about his purpose of the machine. Information on an intermediary is not sufficient - always the end customer must be considered.
