Weldability

Generally all thermo-plastic plastics can be welded. Ideally, the plastic parts should be of the same polymer type, so that the molten plastic mixes easily in the weld seam.

Some combinations of different polymer types can also be welded if their melting temperatures do not differ too much and the melts can mix.
How the energy for welding was introduced into the parts plays a secondary role, so that the combination matrix below is similar for laser welding, ultrasonic welding, vibration welding or another welding technique.
